The Allegheny West Conference Board of Education, in consultation with CAA’s School Board, employs certificated educational personnel. CAA has also been operating since 2002 as a K-8 nonpublic charter school. Please feel free to schedule a time to stop in for a visit. Substitute Teachers

CAA is always in need of qualified individuals to serve as substitute teachers when they are needed. Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree, must have their application approved by the principal, and must pass a background check.

Volunteers

School volunteers enable teachers to provide students with individualized instruction and enrichment activities as they assist in classrooms. They provide valuable assistance for field trips and other school activities. And they provide students with adult role models.

Background Checks

Ohio law requires that all adults working in schools must have a baseline Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) and FBI criminal background check before being employed. BCI and FBI background checks must be no older than one year (365 days) at the time they are used. If an individual then resides continuously in Ohio, he or she does not need to update the BCI background check, but must obtain an updated FBI check once every five years. If an individual lives outside Ohio at any time during the five years after obtaining a BCI check, then both background checks will need to be updated. See this document for more information.

Costs for background checks will be reimbursed by CAA. Contact the school office for suggested locations where background checks can be completed.
